Government Launches Online Business Registration System Phase 2

Phnom Penh: The Royal Government has officially launched the ‘Business Registration System on Information Technology Platform Phase 2 on Wednesday. The OBR 2 launching was made possible more than a year after the Phase 1 was launched. The registration services which are being shifted to online include packaged registration procedure with the Ministry of Commerce, General Department of Taxation, and Ministry of Labour and Vocation Training. Companies can also register as a Qualified Investment Project online with the Council for the Development of Cambodia.

The OBR Phase 2 launching is expected to enhance the quality of user experience and to expand the scope of the services. Users can apply for several services online such as Small and Medium Enterprise Establishment, Tour Operator and Travel Agent Tourism License, Hotel and Accomodation Service Tourism License, Restaurant Tourism License, ICT and Post Sectors License/Certificate/Permit to Operate, Pawn Business License and Transfer-of-Title Business License. The application for these licenses can be accessed at www.registrationservices.gov.kh or by logging in to the websites of the relevant ministries or institutions using the CamDigiKey mobile application.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance says that the spontaneous data exchange between OBR Phase 1 and 2 was done through the data exchange between relevant ministries or institutions on the Cambodia Data Exchange Platfrom or CamDX. It says that this does not only foster better user experience in filling out the application form but also stands as the positive feature that allows relevant ministries or institutions to reduce the review period and to ensure the data consistency. It has added, “This is a crucial course of action taken by the Royal Government of Cambodia, in releasing the vision of building a vibrant digital society and economy by using technology as a core of the implementation.
